Overview
This guide walks administrators and students through the process of recovering a student's OnlineSMART Student Portal username and password.
Step 1: Verify Student Email Address

With the student present, have a school administrator log in to OnlineSMART and access the student’s profile.

Navigate to the Personal tab and confirm or update the student’s email address.

Click Save at the top of the page to apply any changes.
Step 2: Access the Student Portal Recovery Page

Have the student navigate to
portal.onlinesmart.net.

Select Student Portal from the dropdown menu.

Click Forgot Username/Password? at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Recover Username
- Select the Username toggle on the left.
- Complete the following fields:
- Enter the student’s verified email address (from Step 1).
- Enter the school’s Student Portal login identifier.
- Click Submit.

The student will receive an email containing their username.
Step 4: Reset Password
- Select the Password toggle on the right.
- Repeat the same process:
- Enter the verified email address.
- Enter the Student Portal login identifier.
- Click Submit.

The student will receive an email with a link to reset their password.
Step 5: Log In to the Student Portal

Once the username and password have been recovered, the student can log in at
portal.onlinesmart.net.
