Adding User Rights for a Single School
  1. In OnlineSMART click User Administration on the left
  2. On the right, click the blue link User Rights
  3. On the left, click User Rights
  4. Click New User at the top
  5. Enter the following information:

    • User Name
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email Address (if desired)
    • Password
    • Confirm Password

  6. Click Save in the upper left hand corner of the window

    If you are unable to save the profile, please check to make sure that you have an email address entered into the Email Address field. If you dont want to enter an actual email address, just enter a fake address (i.e. [email protected])

Now that you have completed the top portion of this screen, the bottom portion will become available for editing.

  1. In the Available field click on your school name
  2. Click the button to move your school to the Assigned field
  3. Click the Save School Assignment button
  4. Click the Role-Access Assignment tab
  5. Select the applicable role(s) for the user from the Available Roles field


  6. Click the button to move the roles to the Modify Access field

    • You can select multiple roles to move at once by holding Ctrl while clicking
    • Or select a list of consecutive roles by clicking the top role then holding Shift as you click the last role

  7. Click the Active box near the top to add a check mark
  8. Click Save


Adding User Rights for Multiple Schools
  1. In OnlineSMART click User Administration on the left
  2. On the right click the blue link User Rights
  3. On the left click User Rights
  4. Click New User at the top
  5. Enter the following information:

    • User Name
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Email Address (if desired)
    • Password
    • Confirm Password

  6. Click Save in the upper left hand corner of the window

Now that you have completed the top portion of this screen, the bottom portion will become available for editing.

  1. In the Available field hold Ctrl and click on each of your listed schools you want the user to have rights for
  2. Click the button to move your schools to the Assigned field
  3. Click the Save School Assignment button
  4. Click the Role-Access Assignment tab
  5. Make your school selection from the drop down just above the Available Roles field, this is the school the roles will be associated with
  6. Select the applicable role(s) for the user from the Available Roles field


  7. Click the button to move the roles to the Modify Access field

    • You can select multiple roles to move at once by holding Ctrl while clicking
    • Or select a list of consecutive roles by clicking the top role then holding Shift as you click the last role

  8. Repeat steps 5-7 for each of the school locations you gave this user access to
  9. Click the Active box near the top to add a check mark
  10. Click Save


Editing User Rights
  1. In OnlineSMART click User Administration on the left
  2. On the right click the blue link User Rights
  3. On the left click User Rights
  4. Click on the row of the User you want to edit
  5. Click the Role-Access Assignment tab

      • To Add more roles:
        1. Select the applicable role(s) for the user from the Available Roles field
        2. Use the button to add the new role(s)
        3. Click Save

      • To Remove current roles:
        1. Select the applicable role(s) from the Manage Access field
        2. Use the button to remove the role(s)
        3. Click Save


Un-assigning Schools
  1. In OnlineSMART click User Administration on the left
  2. On the right click the blue link User Rights
  3. On the left click User Rights
  4. Click on the row of the User you want to edit
  5. Select the school from the Assigned field on the right
  6. Use the button to move it back to the Available field on the left
  7. Click Save
